Diabetes Management Today

Diabetes Management Today was a new magazine site the publisher I work for put out in early 2010. Geared towards diabetics and those who want to learn about the condition the site needed to be informational and clean in it’s design.
The site would also act to connect readers with new and pertinent information on new technologies and procedures that would enhance their quality of life.
First step was developing a logo for the site. I came up with 7 or so designs that got whittled down to 3 designs that were polished up and then a management team chose the final logo. I don’t mind this one but I had another version that I thought was better.
After the logo was finalized then the work on selecting the color swatch for the site could begin. With a color scheme selected I could begin designing. At one point in the process I used the curly bracket and it worked so well I carried the element further through the overall design. This site was fun because I was able to work some illustrations into the design as well.
